* Please note that the Multi-Purpose is available in the ¾ length version only for dress and casual shoes that do not have a removable generic insole.
The Barefoot Science Foot Strengthening System insoles should always present an even, neutral platform for the feet. To ensure that the insoles sit flat in your shoes, please read the following descriptions to determine which version (full or ¾ length) would be most appropriate for your particular needs.
3/4 length: This version can be worn right out of the box and is appropriate for shoes that do not have a removable insole, such as dress, work, and some casual shoes. Tuck the 3/4 length insole into the shoe so that the heel of the insole fits snugly into the heel pocket of the shoe. The insole will be held securely in place by your own body weight.
Full length: This version has been designed with extra material around the toe area for trimming and is appropriate for shoes that feature a removable insole, such as most athletic and recreational shoes. Typically, the generic insole that comes with these types of shoe is slightly contoured and may interfere with how flat the Barefoot Science System is able to rest in the shoe, so it must be removed. After removing the generic insole, trim the Barefoot Science insole according to the Instructions and place it in the shoe, making sure it lies flat and flush against the ends and sides of the interior of the shoe.
In some cases, the removable insole may be totally flat. You can then choose to replace it with a full length Barefoot Science insole - or - place the 3/4 length Barefoot Science insole over it. In either case, it is vital that the Barefoot Science insole lay flat, that there is as much room in the toe area as possible, and the laces are kept looser than normal.
